Third Try Works Best and Contest Winners for Paper Pads!

Fellow crafters, my deepest apologies for not getting this information up before now.  I was supposed to announce the winners last night and was setting up the post when a family drama came up.  Then today, my daughter was in a terrible car accident.  Everyone is well now and all is good, daughter is resting as comfortably as she can and counting her blessings that she is not hurt worse.  Thank God for keeping His hand on her during this ordeal.

First up, I took a coloring break this weekend and here's a third try, sans embellishments.  I need to get my embellishments back in order (they are a little messed up after a crop and conference).  But here you go!

I can't wait to make a thank you note for a hero inside it and mail this to OWH!

I still challenge each reader to make two Any Hero cards and mail them in.  You can find the information HERE.

Now, for what you really came for, lol...

I hadn't thought this through, again sorry it's been crazy but now I know to plan ahead next year!  :)  So my helpers and I did this the old fashioned way.  I went through the comments (which I'm still answering) and wrote out each name for each comment/join, etc.  We cut them up and put them in a bowl...

and then I had my sleepyhead sons (it was morning) help me draw the names to keep it all above board.  They covered their eyes then dove right in!

The winner of the MME Lost & Found Portobello Road Paper Pad is:

And the winner of the We R memory Keepers Antique Chic Paper Pad is:

Congratulations to Reflections :0) and Barbara Greenberg!   Please get in touch with me (email me at paperblessings[at]charter[dot]net with your mailing information).

I really wish I could send each of you something.  Your comments during my first OWH blog hop were so encouraging even though it was not my best work.  You all ROCK!   Thanks so much and to my new followers, if you blog, look for me on your blog soon.  :)   I love to follow new friends!

Thanks again for entering my contest and for all the encouraging comments.  Please craft well and craft often!

Hugs,

    1. Debbie, thank you so much for the kind words. She is doing better and we are so grateful she walked away with nothing more than whiplash and a few minor bruises. Scary for mom to see that car, I can tell you. Thanks again for stopping by and for the wishes. I'll pass them on to her.

    1. Janis, thank you so much for the prayers. I know we shouldn't covet, but I certainly do for my children and appreciate it. She's still stiff, but I think this has made her rethink some things and I hope God uses this for His glory!

    1. Lynn, thanks so much for the blessings. They are precious to us and I'll be sure to share with dd. She's doing much better now and am so thankful she walked away from the whole thing with much on her heart and mind. Thank you also for the compliments. So sweet. I'm still trying to get used to working with patterned papers. As far as the coloring, oh girl! It's colored pencil with baby oil smudge (that technique Sandy does). It's my favorite technique now that I know how to do it properly. If you need the link for the instructional video Sandy shared, let me know, I'll get it to you!

  4. Glad to hear that your daughter is alright. That's such a scary experience!

Congrats to the winners! For next time, you can scoot over to random.org. Type in the number of comments you have, let it choose a random number, and count down the list that far. Easy peasy!

    1. Kathryn, thanks so much for the well wishes for daughter. You're right, it was scary, my heart was in my throat when we drove up and I saw the car. You know, it definitely doesn't get easier when they get older. I think it was easier when they were babies, lol. Thanks so much for the tip on the number. Knew there was one, but couldn't remember the name. Will definitely look into it for next contest! :)

    1. LOL! HOot Hooot! :) I sent you an email back. I'm hoping to get to the post office in a day or two. I was waiting to see if Barbara got in touch with me so I could mail at the same time. I 'm hesitant to draw a new name because I'm not sure where Barbara is located (if it's Oklahoma, I'd hate to take it away from her in midst of all the weather mess out there). Anyway, CONGRATS again! :) And thanks for the happiness on daughter's behalf.

    1. LOL, thanks, Rufus! Bless you for that smile you gave me. Yeah, I'm partial to my sleepyheaded helpers. They are good boys though one is at that "MOM" stage where almost any request is an embarrassment to him. Will be glad when that phase is through, lol. Thank you for the happiness for daughter's well-being. Appreciate it much. Take care and have a great week.
